Justice for Refugees SA – J4RSA

Justice for Refugees SA is an Adelaide-based advocacy organisation. Our members come from a diverse range of backgrounds and occupations, community organisations and welfare groups.

J4RSA aims to achieve community and government support for the just and humane treatment of people seeking asylum and those who come to Australia as refugees that builds on Australian traditions of generosity, openness and fairness.

Our current focus is lobbying our State Premier and other politicians to ensure increased support for people on temporary protection visas during COVID-19, as well as working closely with the Refugee Council of Australia and others.

Rural Australians for Refugees
UnSung Heroes Award

Rural Australians for Refugees (RAR) has launched the Unsung Heroes Award. It is a way to profile some people and groups who are examples of how everyday Australians play a part in taking practical action to support refugees and people seeking asylum in rural and regional Australia.

The first Award is to Angela Fredericks, for her role in leading the #HometoBilo campaign for the Sri Lankan family from Biloela, kept in detention for over two years now.

RAR’s July 2020 Unsung Hero is Sister Brigid Arthur.
